Sustainability Associate (Certification)

Role Purpose

As a Sustainability Associate (Certification) based in Saudi Arabia, you will support sustainability assurance, verification, and advisory projects that help organizations improve their environmental and social impact. This is an entry-level role designed to build strong technical and advisory capabilities through hands-on project experience, mentorship, and structured training.

Key Responsibilities

• Support sustainability report assurance engagements (ISAE 3000 / ISAE 3410)
• Assist in greenhouse gas (GHG) verification and carbon footprint assessments (ISO 14064, GHG Protocol)
• Contribute to ESG reporting advisory and IFRS S1/S2 readiness assessments
• Support CBAM pre-verification advisory for EU-bound exporters
• Collect, review, and validate sustainability and ESG data
• Draft sections of assurance reports and verification statements under supervision
• Support preparation of proposals, presentations, and client-facing materials
• Participate in regional and global sustainability knowledge-sharing initiatives

Programme Responsibilities

• Support sustainability project delivery across carbon accounting, climate, ESG, renewable energy, circularity, and supply chains
• Conduct research, data analysis, and preparation of client materials
• Apply sustainability standards and regulatory frameworks to real client engagements
• Actively participate in structured training, mentorship, and continuous learning throughout the programme

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following (or related fields):

• STEM disciplines (preferred)
• Environmental Science or Sustainability
• Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Industrial, Environmental)
• Energy Systems, Climate Science, or Renewable Energy
• Business, Economics, or Data Analytics with a strong sustainability focus

Experience

• Recent graduate or up to 2 years of professional experience
• Prior exposure to sustainability or ESG through internships, academic projects, or research is an advantage
• Familiarity with carbon footprinting, ESG reporting, or sustainability regulations is a plus

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• High attention to detail and quality
• Strong interest in sustainability and climate transition

Language Requirements

• English: Minimum B2 level
• Arabic: Required
