Position:  Senior Maintenance Supervisor

Minimum Required Qualifications
Specialty: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline
Education Degree: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred

 

Technical Knowledge and Expertise::

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance systems related to laboratory environments

 

Experience:

  •  Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, preferably in a laboratory environment.

 

Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of laboratory equipment, facilities, and utilities. The role may require working during night shifts, weekends, or providing support in emergency situations as dictated by operational requirements and in accordance with labor regulations.
  • Ensure equipment breakdowns are addressed promptly to minimize operational downtime.
  • Supervise maintenance activities related to sample preparation, Fire Assay, Wet chemistry equipment and laboratory support equipment and utilities such as air compressors, dust and lead collection systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify maintenance requirements before failures occur.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance work performed by contractors, suppliers, and external service providers.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Formulation and maintenance of equipment records, logs, inspection reports, work orders and ensure records are traceable and readily retrievable.
  • Conduct training and competency assessments for the maintenance team.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, facilities, and utilities to identify defects and cost-effective improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory and initiate procurement requests when required.
  • Support installation, commissioning, relocation, and upgrading of laboratory equipment.
  • Investigate recurring equipment failures and recommend and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
  • Planning and coordinating maintenance shutdowns and major repairs.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance standards are maintained throughout the laboratory and support facilities.
