Position: Senior Technician, Laboratory
Company : Bureau Veritas Mineral Solutions
Location: KSA / Jeddah
Minimum Required Qualifications
Specialty: Chemistry/Science
Education Degree: Bachelor
Technical Knowledge and Expertise::
- Understanding of theoretical principles related to working with ICP and AAS instruments.
- Knowledge of technical practices and chemical analysis associated with testing and analyzing elements.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and its requirements.
- Ability to effectively operate and maintain ICP and AAS instruments.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
- Capability to analyze data and prepare technical reports related to testing.
- In summary, Technical Knowledge focuses on theoretical understanding, while Technical Expertise
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience operating ICP and other instruments in testing laboratories.
Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
- Sound experience in operation, trouble shooting, repair, maintenance, of analytical instruments with an emphasis on ICP-OES & ICP-MS, AAS, XRF and Carbon Sulphur also advantageous.
- Coordinating with the local service engineers and support team to prepare service estimates, manage parts inventory and ensure timely service delivery.
- Preparing and submitting service and maintenance reports in accordance with our standard procedures.
- Conducts tests as per the required Test Method/Standard.
- Ensures the good and safe use of testing equipment.
- Reports any unusual performance / damage of testing equipment.
- Assures that testing equipment is in good condition and proper working status.
- Maintains cleanliness of his respective working area (including equipment).
- Records the data / test result using the controlled data sheet clearly and unambiguously.
- Ensures continued accreditation of the laboratory.
- Participates in equipment’s maintenance and calibration needs.
- Participates in replicate and inter-laboratory correlation or comparison tests to assure the quality of test results.
- Helps supervisor in managing the technical operations of his section.
- Handles supervisor responsibilities in his absence (when required).
- Maintains good housekeeping, safety and good laboratory practice in workplace.
- Commits to Bureau Veritas code of ethics and confidentiality and impartiality policy.
- Any other tasks assigned by his Line Manager.
- Always observe HSSE policies and procedures.
- Comply with ethical policies and the code of ethics
