Bureau Veritas Inspectorate Laboratories is looking for a Safety Officer for the fuels division. This position is based in Centurion.

  • Background in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001:2018.
  • Preferably having SAMTRAC and Total Quality Management Certificate.
  • Grade 12 as a minimum with tertiary education related to QHSE preferable.
  • Valid drivers license (Code B) and medically fit to visit remote sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Be appointed as QHSE Officer for Centurion Laboratory.
  • Track and report required HSE and Q KPIs to HSE and Q Manager(s) and local management via reports identified by the QHSE Manager.
  • Assist with maintenance of the ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 45001 certifications
  • Maintain and improves Quality Management system and documentation system.
  • Update and manage QESIS and/or other relevant systems on behalf of Management.
  • Coordinate monthly management of Operational Excellence scorecards and consolidate for South Africa and Southern Africa region.
  • Coordinate consolidation and tracking of Operational Excellence project actions and minutes across Southern Africa.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis of on-performance, propose corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate and maintain Client Satisfaction survey processes.
  • Communicate local safety alerts to country employees and manager
  • Deploy Safety Campaigns in coordination with HR network.
  • Coordinate with HR, annual training plan, including Group e-learning modules. If necessary, deliver training.  Ensure record keeping and progress tracking thereof.
  • Ensure with local management that PPEs are properly managed and tracked.
  • Coordinate Environmental standards requirements and the monthly and annual carbon footprint reports for the SAF region.
  • Coordinate audit program and conduct internal audits with IAM and track corrective & preventive action implementation.
  • Coordinates Management Review.  Prepares documentation, collection, trending and interpretation of data for management review purposes.
  • Compiles STBT’s and QHSE alerts and tracks completion, for the region and Morningside.
  • Updates, coordinates dissemination and conducts annual and adhoc QHSE induction.
  • Coordinates and keeps records of annual and adhoc medical surveillance of employees.
