Bureau Veritas is looking for a Metals and Minerals Sales and Marketing Manager: Southern Africa. This position is based in Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • A degree in Geology or related field, from a recognised university or technical college.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Metals and Minerals business.
  • Experience in the management of minerals testing laboratories, highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Management of P/L
  • Business Development experience.
  • Sales and marketing qualification.

 

 

Job Specification

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Set the Metals and Minerals business line strategy and objectives (exploration, production and trade) for the Region; leads and manages its activities.
  • Develops and achieves annual budget.
  • Prepares local and corporate reports and its analysis in a timely manner, including monthly control goals and monthly P&L projections.
  • Manages sales
  • Identifies opportunities and key contracts/projects to ensure continued and sustained growth of the business.
  • Identifies potential acquisitions in the various countries related to the Metals and Minerals business.
  • Ensures business practices meet or exceed company policies and industry standards.
  • Ensures claims and customer complaints are prevented and minimized. If these should occur, ensure appropriate solution is found.
  • Supports the ISO certificate(s) and QHSE and applies corrective/preventive actions.
  • Obtains and maintains an in-depth knowledge of local market requirements.
  • Grows business in Metals and Minerals (Exploration, Production and Trade).
  • Manage the identification of leads, projects and key decisions makers within Companies active in Southern Africa
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with procurement, projects managers and key decision makers identified per projects.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff.
  • Manage and initiate cross selling efforts among Bureau Veritas colleagues, internal sales between various commodity industries 
  • Represent the policies, ethics, and culture of the company in a leadership role.
