In the SMETA sector (Social and Environmental Accountability), we support organizations in achieving international standards for social and environmental responsibility, with particular focus on ethical audits, regulatory compliance and sustainable supply chain management.


ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking expert Lead Auditors SMETA to conduct social and environmental accountability audits at clients in Switzerland. The position requires full autonomy in managing SMETA audits, multilingual communication skills and deep knowledge of ethical audit systems, regulatory compliance and supply chain sustainability.

The professional will operate as an independent consultant, ensuring high-quality audits, verification of compliance with SMETA criteria, identification of non-conformities and formulation of strategic recommendations for improving social and environmental accountability performance.


REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Degree in Engineering, Social Sciences, Law, Human Resources or related disciplines
  • Lead Auditor SMETA Certification (mandatory)
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 Certification (preferred)
  • Continuous training on ethical audits and social responsibility
  • Knowledge of international regulations on human rights and labor

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years as Lead Auditor SMETA with industrial clients
  • Experience conducting audits in Swiss or European organizations

Technical Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of SMETA Standard (version 6 and subsequent versions)
  • Knowledge of international regulations on human rights (ILO, UN Guiding Principles)
  • Knowledge of EU regulations on sustainability and due diligence
  • Competence in social and environmental risk assessment
  • Use of audit software and document management systems
  • Competence in ESG analysis and social responsibility criteria
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and traceability

Languages

  • Italian and/or French and/or German (fluent – at least one language mandatory)
  • English (preferred)
