Role Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Mechanical Engineer to support the design review, construction supervision, and commissioning of mechanical systems for a large-scale hyperscale data center project in Thailand.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems, particularly cooling and HVAC systems critical to data center operations, are delivered in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and performance requirements. The role will work closely with the Project Manager, discipline engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless coordination and technical excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate mechanical system designs, drawings, and specifications (HVAC, chilled water systems, piping, ventilation, etc.)
  • Monitor and supervise mechanical works on-site, ensuring compliance with approved designs and construction standards
  • Review and comment on contractor submittals, including shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality of installation, workmanship, and progress
  • Coordinate closely with electrical, CSA, and ELV teams to ensure proper system integration
  • Support and oversee testing and commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing
  • Identify and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented
  • Monitor project progress against schedule and highlight risks, delays, and technical challenges
  • Participate in technical and coordination meetings, providing input on mechanical systems and interfaces
  • Assist in snagging, de-snagging, and final inspections prior to project handover
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, reports, and records in line with project requirements
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and promote safe working practices on site

 

Key Competencies & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within construction or MEP projects
  • Proven experience in large-scale projects, preferably data centers, mission-critical facilities, or industrial developments
  • Strong expertise in data center cooling systems (e.g., chillers, CRAH/CRAC, cooling towers, chilled water distribution)
  • Good understanding of HVAC design, installation practices, and system integration
  • Experience in site supervision, QA/QC processes, and contractor coordination
  • Familiarity with testing and commissioning processes for mechanical systems
  • Experience working in fast-track, high-specification projects with strict quality standards
  • Knowledge of local Thai regulations and codes is an advantage

Contract Duration: 20 Months
