Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical System Design:
    • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to understand the project's electrical requirements.
    • Develop detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
    • Select appropriate electrical equipment, materials, and components to meet the project's needs.
    • Ensure the electrical design complies with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, local building codes).
    • Collaborate with the design team to optimize the electrical system layout and integration with other building systems.
  2. Construction Management:
    • Manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and components.
    • Coordinate with electrical contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and quality execution of electrical work.
    • Monitor construction progress, identify and resolve electrical-related issues, and ensure the timely completion of tasks.
    • Conduct site inspections to verify the quality of workmanship and adherence to specifications.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and safety of the electrical systems.
  3. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
    • Investigate and diagnose any issues or defects in the electrical systems, such as power failures, wiring problems, or equipment malfunctions.
    • Develop and implement corrective actions to address identified problems, ensuring the reliability and functionality of the electrical systems.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team, subcontractors, and clients.
    • Recommend and oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance strategies to minimize future issues.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of electrical-related activities, including installation, testing, and inspection reports.
    • Prepare progress reports, change orders, and other documentation as required by the project management team.
    • Ensure compliance with project documentation requirements and quality control procedures.
    • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and other project handover documentation.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Coordinate with the project team, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of the electrical systems.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to address concerns and ensure project requirements are met.
    • Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to support decision-making.
    • Foster a collaborative and problem-solving-oriented work environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or electrical project management
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation techniques, as well as relevant codes and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with project management software and documentation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
