Key Responsibilities:

  • HAZOP Facilitation: Lead and facilitate HAZOP sessions for various projects, ensuring the thorough identification and assessment of potential hazards and operability issues.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive HAZOP documentation, including detailed reports, action plans, and recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers, and safety professionals, to implement HAZOP findings and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on process safety and risk management to clients and internal teams.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions and workshops to build HAZOP awareness and competency within client organizations and the company.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve HAZOP methodologies and processes to enhance safety performance and operational efficiency.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements related to HAZOP and process safety.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting/Leading Process Hazards Identification (PHA, HAZOP, HAZID, etc.)
  • Identifying and screening hazardous scenarios
  • Supporting/Leading SIL Determination/LOPA
  • Performing and documenting SIL verification studies
  • Performing and documenting reliability calculations using techniques such as Reliability Block Diagram or Fault Tree Analysis
  • Estimating frequency of loss of containment of hazardous materials
  • Conducting consequence analysis and modeling for process hazards
  • Assessing safety risks for onsite personnel and third parties
  • Conducting risk mitigation and cost-benefit analysis
  • Building risk assessments
  • Classifying hazardous areas
  • Analyzing non-process related hazards (including dropped objects, ship collisions, etc.)
  • Providing quotations for consultancy services and engaging in business development activities
  • Coordinating and delivering training courses.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HAZOP facilitation, process safety, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of HAZOP methodology, risk assessment techniques, and process safety management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional certifications such as PHA Leader, CSP, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Proficiency in using HAZOP software and tools.
