Bureau Veritas Solutions (BVS) are actively seeking a Naval Architect to join our Engineering and Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) Departments.

The Role

 

The successful candidate will work across our Engineering and Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) Departments, providing naval architectural and engineering consultancy services to our clients, both as a consultant on an ad-hoc basis or as part of a project specific role. This will involve will performing engineering analysis, undertaking analysis reviews and preparing technical documents, while working with the wider engineering and MWS teams.

 

The Candidate

 

The successful candidate will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable experience in naval architecture within the offshore industry. A practical approach to technical challenges and an ability to share knowledge is also essential to ensure that we continue to meet the high standards of customer service to our clients. Project management experience would also be desirable, as would an understanding of Marine Warranty, though these are not essential.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Engineering analysis, calculations, design, assessment and review
  • Marine Warranty Survey document reviews and site attendance
  • Attending client sites onshore and offshore to conduct survey / inspection work to produce reports or augment desktop analysis
  • Preparation of technical documents for issue to clients and suitable for submission to relevant authorities
  • Effective and timely production of project workscope requirements
  • Assisting in the preparation of bids and tenders where required
