Where will you be working?
This is a hybrid role, working as part of our digitally connected workforce in a supportive, well connected active team.
Travel to client sites and meetings as required. Most of our workload is currently covering North London, Oxford, Midlands, and the Southeast, there may be some more northerly travel.
What is Your Role?
- The successful candidate will provide exceptional CDM and associated Consultancy services to Bureau Veritas Clients, ensuring our clients and project teams we work with, navigate CDM and associated regulations effectively, mitigating risk, during design, construction and foreseeable risk in of structures. To deliver a highly technical and professional service in line with our business aims and in line with our Operating Procedures and QA systems.
- You will have proven skills in providing Principal Designer, Client Advisor and associated consultancy
Main duties and responsibilities
- CDM Principal Designer/Principal Designer Advisor Services: Provide expert advice and support to clients on design and construction projects, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations
- CDM Client Advisor Services: Offer consultancy to clients, assisting them in fulfilling their obligations under CDM regulations
- Site Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct safety audits and site inspections to ensure compliance and identify potential risks
- CDM Risk Reviews: Review and assess the risk management processes and ensure that the design, construction, and foreseeable risks are appropriately mitigated
- Associated Health and Safety Services: Provide additional health and safety services as required, in line with your competency and project needs
What does it take to apply?
- Preferably you will hold minimum CertIOSH and/ or CMaPs membership or equivalent for a Senior Role or working towards this for a Consultant Role.
- You will have a flexible, self-organized approach to workload, with effective communication skills.
- Proven skills in providing Principal Designer, Client Advisor and associated construction safety consultancy, including:
- Strong, demonstratable knowledge and experience in applying construction safety and associated legislation as a CDM Consultant
- Strong grounding in and understanding of construction methodology.
- Ability to work proactively, and to balance time between construction projects, sharing and leading with best practice and encouraging project teams and clients to consider safety as an intrinsic part of any project.
- Strong IT skills with ability to adapt to using in-house software packages, ability to manage own projects and time.
- Ability to lead where required in client relationships – including acting as a seller doer.
- Building Regulations and Fire safety knowledge is desirable.
