Role Purpose

As a QA/QC Manager – Fire Safety, your primary responsibility will be to undertake technical auditing of Fire Risk Assessment Reports that have been completed and submitted by field-based assessors in accordance with our BAFE SP205 scheme registration.

Typically, fire risk assessments vary in complexity and will range between small shop and office type businesses, up to and including large multi-use, high-rise buildings that may include engineered solutions to achieve compliance with current regulation.

A key collaborative role working closely with (and supporting) the Technical Manager - Fire Safety, Head of Technical Service HSI, and the wider technical community to drive a consistent approach to completed fire safety risk assessments.


What will you need to succeed in this role? [E] – Essential [D] - Desirable

  • Listed as a Tier 3 Fire Risk Assessor on the National Fire Risk Assessor Register [E]
  • Validation by Third Party Certification Body (TPCB) as part of BAFE SP205 scheme for life safety FRA’s. [E]
  • Professional membership of a recognised Fire Safety related body i.e. Institute of Fire Safety Managers, Institute of Fire Prevention Officers, FRACS, etc.[E]
  • A minimum of eight years’ experience carrying out life safety fire risk assessment [E]
  • Five years of satisfactory CPD records demonstrating that every effort is made to keep abreast of technical developments in all areas of fire precautions and fire safety. [E]
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills [E]
  • Good Customer Service Skills [E]
  • Highly proficient with MS Office suite of products [E]
  • Ability to prioritise own work and manage workload [E]
  • Minimum GCSE Mathematics and English [E]
  • Knowledge and ability to use Computer Management Systems [D]
  • Evidence of drive for quality and consistency [D]
