Working closely with all areas of the business, the Senior QHSE Advisor will be integral in championing a HSE culture across our UK operations, driving continuous improvement and empowering Business Unit employees at all levels to reduce risk and foster a positive HSE culture.

 

Main Duties

  • Developing and documenting the HSE training requirements across the Operational teams with input from the Area and Technical Managers
  • HSE Legislation updates relevant to Bureau Veritas UK & Group requirements; completed and changes made where relevant
  • Provision of information to support the HSE Management Review process
  • The Documentation of a formal HSE annual plan for Bureau Veritas UK to capture Group initiatives, summary training plans, reporting and KPI’s to be achieved
  • Implementing and achieving the objectives of the HSE annual plan
  • HSE incidents: ensure investigations take place and provide input and advice as required, document findings and recommendations.  Track implementation of corrective actions.
  • Leading investigations of serious HSE incidents
  • The closure of any of non-conformances associated with the HSE function within a timely manner
  • Developing and implementing the annual plan for auditing UK premises, ensure provision of adequate first aid services in each location
  • Coordinating Health & Safety and Environmental performance information for the UK and liaise with Regional Group on all HSE matters.
  • Representing Bureau Veritas on the SAFed TC9 Technical Committee
  • Assisting the UK Leadership team to create the environment for delivering sustained HSE excellence across the UK
  • Provide HSE Consultancy Advice
  • Provide coaching and development support to the QHSE Team

 

Experience Required  

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (qualifications and/or experience)
  • Grad IOSH membership 
  • Holder of NEBOSH or similar diploma or an equivalent qualification and / or experience
  • Holder of Environmental qualification
  • Significant experience within HSE   
  • In depth understanding of UK HSE legislation
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Experience of working with Operational teams
