About the Role
We are growing Health and Safety team and looking for an experienced Health and Safety Consultant to provide high-quality consulting support to an office-based client with a large number of employees to achieve operational excellence by delivering SMS-related services and support in identifying innovative solutions and services. This is a 12-month fixed term contract with a possibility of becoming permanent.
Responsibilities involve:
- Deliver high‑quality technical consultancy to clients across BV Solutions, ensuring all work meets required technical standards.
- Support the delivery of the annual BV Solutions Plan and contribute to the development of new services and methodologies.
- Assist in delivering projects on time and within budget, managing resources effectively and participating in regular project reviews.
- Draft clear, accurate and professional consultancy reports, proposals and technical documents.
- Ensure full use of BV Solutions tools, methodologies and competency frameworks in all project work.
- Adhere to all site safety practices when undertaking site‑based activities.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Act as an exemplar in client management, relationship building and communication.
- Respond promptly to client requests, proposals and technical queries.
- Promote and market relevant BV Solutions services to support business development and growth.
- Conduct research and provide expert guidance to clients on emerging risks, best practice and industry developments.
- Ensure client feedback surveys are requested, monitored and followed up to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare project case studies in collaboration with the marketing team.
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Maintain an accurate opportunity pipeline in Salesforce and contribute to forward workload forecasting.
- Monitor individual utilisation and activity levels to achieve agreed targets.
- Follow all financial procedures in project delivery and support KPI reporting for the Consulting Group Manager.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, standards, guidelines and technical developments.
- Operate in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics.

Qualifications Required
- Relevant qualification in occupational safety and health, human factors, engineering or psychology.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
- Experience or qualifications in ergonomics or human factors, including the use of relevant tools and methodologies.
- Experience in the energy sector, ideally with offshore exposure and a strong understanding of human‑focused HSE standards.
- Experience with operational excellence methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen).
- Understanding of resilience engineering, Safety II, human organisational performance and safety culture.
- Experience with project management methodologies.
