At Bureau Veritas, we support organisations to manage risk responsibly, proportionately and with confidence. We’re now looking for a Health & Safety Consultant to join our team, working in a client‑embedded environment and supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of high‑quality Health & Safety services.

This role is ideal for a developing H&S professional who wants hands‑on experience in a complex operational setting, exposure to senior stakeholders, and a clear pathway toward Diploma and Chartered progression.

The Role

As a Health & Safety Consultant, you’ll work closely with client stakeholders and senior Bureau Veritas consultants, supporting practical and compliant Health & Safety delivery.

You will:

  • Support day‑to‑day Health & Safety activities within a client‑embedded environment
  • Work collaboratively with client teams and BV colleagues to deliver agreed H&S support
  • Assist in the development, review and maintenance of risk assessments, policies and safe systems of work
  • Provide advice on Health & Safety legislation and best practice, with appropriate support and supervision
  • Support incident reporting, investigations and follow‑up actions
  • Contribute to audits, inspections and assurance activities
  • Maintain clear, accurate records, reports and documentation
  • Attend meetings and site activities aligned with your role and scope
  • Escalate risks, issues or uncertainties to Senior or Principal Consultants as appropriate
  • Operate in line with client site rules, Bureau Veritas governance, technical frameworks and Code of Ethics

This is a hands‑on consultancy role where learning, development and professional judgement are actively supported.

  • Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and guidance
  • Experience supporting Health & Safety activities in an advisory or operational setting

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Diploma or progression toward Diploma level
  • Graduate or Technician IOSH membership (or working toward Chartered status)
  • Experience in client‑embedded or multi‑site environments
  • Exposure to audits or management systems (e.g. ISO 45001)

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Clear, professional communication style
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn, develop and take ownership of assigned tasks
