Location: The preferred base location is London, though other locations within reasonable proximity to a UK Bureau Veritas Office will also be considered- Hybrid Working 3 days per week in the office

About the Role

As a Principal Consultant for Corporate ESG Services, you will lead the delivery of a variety of Corporate ESG assignments across multiple industry sectors.  The successful candidate will support the development of the ESG advisory services offering within the wider ESG Corporate Services Business Unit, with support from Business Unit Manager. You will also provide support with commercial activities such as pitching to clients and developing proposals.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Role of ESG advisory subject matter expert for UK
  • Support the definition of the current and future market, market drivers and service offerings for ESG advisory services
  • Support tender responses to client requests for work and input into large bids through the Bid Support Team, as required
  • Keep abreast of current ESG trends, legislation, national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Providing support, mentorship, and leadership to more junior team members
  • Delivery of projects to budget and to the required quality

Who are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience of ESG reporting and disclosures
  • High level of confidence presenting complex ESG information to senior stakeholders
  • Relevant first degree (e.g. environmental, engineering, sustainability etc) and higher degree desirable
  • Good understand of the market for corporate ESG services and strong commercial acumen
  • Well established UK professional network
  • A demonstratable experience in sustainability consulting or corporate ESG leadership, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-impact projects.
  • Detailed understand and prior application of sustainability reporting frameworks
  • Ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders, building trusted relationships and shaping strategic sustainability decisions.
