Racking Inspector  

Field based – Derby/ Nottingham


We are looking for a Racking Inspector to deliver storage equipment inspections to SEMA racking inspection guidelines across our portfolio of large commercial and industrial clients.


Working within the group consultancy team you will deliver racking inspections, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide subject matter advice to clients and colleagues within Bureau Veritas. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will control your own diary and schedule your own client visits. Ensuring high quality inspections are delivered on time and within contract SLAs.

Responsibilities include:


  • Undertaking technical surveys and inspections at client’s sites and providing written technical reports on behalf of the Engineering Technical Services team  
  • Prepare comprehensive reports including observations and recommendations
  • Arrange and carry out all work to meet with agreed Company & client timescales
  • Providing consultancy advice, training, and high-level support to clients within the division
  • Responsibility for managing small contracts/projects within division as directed by the Engineering Team Leader
  • Preparation and issue of quotations, tenders, works specifications and invoices
  • Liaise with project managers and account managers in relation to work under their control.
  • Present and discuss reports with the client as necessary.


 Candidate requirements include:


  • Proven technical experience in Racking Inspections
  • Ability to communicate with the client effectively and manage their expectations
  • Be able to maintain and grow existing relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of the latest regulations and standards
  • Comfortable operating independently on behalf of Bureau Veritas within an external environment
  • A flexible and innovative approach to working and a willingness to travel
  • Full Driving Licence essential
