Role: Fire Safety Consultant

Location: Field based (Hampshire/ Wiltshire)

 

We are looking for a consultant to join our team of fire safety experts in providing fire life safety consultancy services for our broad range of new and existing clients. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will undertake fire risk assessments and inspections at client’s sites and provide accurate fire risk assessment reports with SMART remedial actions.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • To undertake a variety of site audits and risk assessments and inspections proficiently at clients’ premises including fire risk assessments, H&S risk assessments & demonstrate a sound understanding of legislation
  • Develop proactive fire risk management strategies for client
  • Carry out other fire safety consultancy services including fire doors surveys, passive protection surveys, and fire safety training for duty holders & responsible persons
  • Deliver general, professional health and safety and fire safety advice to clients
  • Carry out health & safety assessments, reporting on improvements needed to duty holders
  • Execute and complete assignments on time and accurately
  • Ensuring reports are technically correct, demonstrating knowledge, experience and sound understanding of legislation
  • Achieve individual utilisation versus targets and activity manage optimal utilisation
  • Deliver against Key personal and divisional KPIs
  • Operate in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics

 

Candidate requirements include:

 

  • A recognised fire risk assessment course such as the FPA Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment – or the C05/6 predecessors to it
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (desirable)
  • Proven fire risk assessment experience.
  • Experience of carrying out fire risk assessment work in various sectors 
  • A good background knowledge of fire safety legislation and standards
  • Experienced in the organisation and planning of personal workload
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A flexible approach to working with a willingness to travel
