About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Independent Construction Assessor to join our growing Building Standards team. This is a key technical role, providing expert guidance, auditing, and on‑site assessment to ensure compliance with Building Standards and support the highest levels of construction quality across the industry.
You will act as a trusted specialist for both internal teams and external clients, helping to shape best practice, strengthen industry relationships, and contribute to the continued growth and professionalism of our organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Technical & Compliance Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of company policies, procedures, and practices, delivering clear and timely reports
- Provide expert guidance to help clients meet current and emerging Building Standards legislation
- Support on‑site warranty and quality inspections when required
Leadership & Development
- Play an active role in developing and expanding the ICA function within the business.
- Promote high standards of ethics, professionalism, and technical excellence
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing team culture
- Build strong relationships across the construction sector to support business growth
Continuous Improvement
- Commit to ongoing professional development to enhance your technical expertise.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improved service delivery
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Expertise
- Demonstrable experience as an Approved Inspector in Building Control, including commercial projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial Building Control and Fire Safety.
- Experience in auditing is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Accredited membership: RICS, CABE, or CIOB
- Excellent analytical and report‑writing skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with excellent client‑facing abilities
- Ability to manage a varied and busy workload effectively
- Commercial awareness and the ability to support business development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 6 in Senior Site Inspection (or equivalent)
- Full professional membership: RICS / CABE / CIOB
- Class 2 RBI preferred.
