SUMMARY:  The Program Manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring multiple Senior Project Managers, Project Managers Project Manager Leads, & Project Coordinators and in charge of the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of active client accounts. This position will require a significant amount of travel throughout the United States.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

 

  • Direct and mentor Senior Project Managers during project development and program management from beginning to end.
  • Serve as an available consultative resource for Clients, and may participate in sales calls, presentations, and trades shows.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers to manage every aspect of the development process including consultants, general contractors, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, internal departments and developers.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel within and across divisions.
  • Conduct performance reviews and monitor/manage project team members.
  • Present reports defining project/program performance and profitability, resource availability and divisional goals.
  • Responsibilities include proposal development of Client and Project specific Scopes of Work and direct interface with Sales staff to assure client’s expectations and needs are met.
  • Web Based project management.
  • Ability to use and skillfully operate a computer is essential to this position.
  • Ability to travel, on average, approximately 75% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane or driving. Overnight stays away from home may be required.
  • Ability to climb ladders (including vertical ladders up multiple stories) and/or steep roof stairs (for each building assessed, at least once per on-site assessment)
  • Protects operations by keeping company information confidential
  • Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client’s needs
  • Demonstrates BV's guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals
  • Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards
  • Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations
  • May be required to work overtime
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to successfully work from remote location.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  The role of Program Manager directs project managers on the specific programs by ensuring clear up-front scopes are understood, visits and projects occur on time, issues are resolved, and technical decisions are made.

  • Education and/or Experience: 
    • B.S. or B.A. degree with a minimum of (10) years retail project management experience; Degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering preferred but not required
    • 10 (years) direct work experience in a project and/or account management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Proven experience in managing people and clients.
    • Proven experience (5 years) in managing people

 

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Strong consideration will be given to those that are PMP and LEED certified
    • Valid driver's license is required
    • Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.

 

  • Other Qualifications:
    • Must have a clean driving record
    • Must be able to work from a remote location
    • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
    • Occasional weekend travel required.
    • Must be willing to fly and live near (or be willing to relocate to) a major metropolitan area with reasonable access to a major airport
    • Ability to travel, on average, approximately 75% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane or driving. Overnight stays away from home may be required.
    • Knowledge of construction components, process and methodologies required
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with BV employees and customers
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position
    • Ability to use and skillfully operate a computer is essential to this position.
