Hours Worked: Tuesday through Friday, 4 10s 7am-5:30pm,  forty hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

 

Compensation Range: $21 an hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).

 

Position Summary:

The Tissue Lab Technician Level I is responsible for  Tissue Lab protocols and procedures to be executed individually and as a team

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily tasks such as lab set up, receipt of the tissue, tissue preparation, test equipment set up, and lab closure
  • Read procedures on and understand how the equipment operates
  • Become familiar with tests performed in the lab
  • Be trained and demonstrate ability to perform such tasks as, tissue measurement, proper gluing and holding of the tissue and the responsibilities associated with those activities
  • Showcase knowledge of good documentation practices to record tested data (handwritten or electronic) that will later be used for written reports.
  • Develop your skills by cross training in other lab spaces (e.g., mechanical, materials, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Skills & Proficiencies:

    • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Must be highly detail-oriented and customer-focused
    • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
    • Ability to work with client with shifting deadlines and priorities
    • Ability to multi-task in a regulated, fast-paced environment

 

Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma
    • Preferred
      • Associate Degree in a STEM related background
      • Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
