Position Summary

  • Global Regulatory Specialists must have a keen understanding of regulations and standards globally and an ability to produce high-quality research reports and perspectives which meet the business needs of both new and prospective external clients. Additionally, Specialists must be able to interact with internal clients as providers of critical technical and regulatory information and team members collaborating on client-facing Knowledge Products. A background in consumer products is preferred.

Objectives

  • Monitor, select, summarize, synthesize, and utilize evolving global technical and regulatory requirements for delivery in various Knowledge Products
  • Actively engage new and prospective clients, as well as internal clients, to determine how best to provide Knowledge Products that suit their business needs (i.e., sourcing, designing, testing, importing, and/ or selling products)
  • Participate in sales and marketing efforts around the Knowledge Products

Major Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of technical and regulatory standards for consumer products globally
  • Select, summarize, synthesize, and provide technical and regulatory information to both internal and external clients in the form of one, or all, Knowledge Products
  • Ensure all Knowledge Products produced are current, comprehensive, accurate, of the highest quality, delivered on time, and in the right format to suit each client’s needs
  • Collaborate with global Technical Services staff on Knowledge Products, including assigning, collecting, and editing regulatory content for delivery to external clients
  • Assist with operationalization of the Knowledge Products
  • Ensure that any follow-up questions, maintenance, and/ or updates to Knowledge Product(s) initiated by external clients are undertaken with the same level of quality as the initial project(s)
  • Proactively determine which technical and regulatory information to maintain with respect to what internal and/ or external clients are seeking and what is deliverable by the Knowledge Products team

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and demonstrated ability to select, summarize, and synthesize those requirements globally
  • Client interaction skills: Demonstrated ability to work with clients, determine their requirements, generate Knowledge Products which satisfy their information needs, secure additional business, and generally ensure their total satisfaction with BV
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle crisis situations, and balance several tasks simultaneously in a high pressure environment
  • Highly developed organizational and interpersonal skills. Personable, with ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills.  Medium to high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to represent Bureau Veritas in client-facing interactions (i.e., in writing, on the phone, or in person)
  • Ability to quickly assimilate and assess new information and develop plans to capitalize or react to it
  • Ability to prioritize and perform required follow-up
  • Problem-solving skills

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job

  • Bachelors in related field required, Masters a plus
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience required in related discipline
  • Minimum of two years experience with customer service and/or direct customer interface
