Cylinder Room Assistant (Entry Level)
Location: Edmonton, Alberta 

 

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

 

Support function for sample containers, sample storage, building consumables and maintenance. Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):

 

  • Ensure contents of sample containers are properly and safely disposed of by following required procedures
  • Perform cleaning of cylinders (oil samples by solvent recirculation, gas, LPG by steam and dry air) followed by evacuation and preparation for re-use
  • Full servicing of sample containers, including ensuring that sample containers are clearly labelled, faulty parts appropriately replaced and tested for safety prior to use

  • Check and maintain proper functioning of equipment on a regular basis
  • Maintain proper inventory of supplies, parts, accessories and other consumables associated with the operation
  • Maintain open communication within department to effectively identify client needs
  • Professionally interact face-to-face, over phone or by email with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform daily workload as prioritized by supervisor to accommodate daily rushes
  • Provide support as required to other areas of Technical Services Group

 

 

Is there a mutual fit? You ideally have:

 

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Previous experience as a labourer or receiver is considered an asset
  • Previous experience with forklift or scissor lift is an asset
  • Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Detail oriented and solid record keeping skills

Experience:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma
  • 1 year of experience in related field (Asset)  

 

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary (including some weekends/night shifts)
