Business Unit / Function: Marine & Offshore – Marine Marketing & Sales

Position: Business Development Manager Cruise North America

Reporting to: Global Market Leader – Passenger Ships & Ferries

 

 ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Business Development/Sales

  • Develop and implement commercial plans in cooperation with and lead by the Global Market Leader Passenger Ships & Ferries (GML) and the BV commercial network in North America (NA)
  • Visit clients for direct marketing & sales activities in accordance with the commercial plan, with or on behalf of GML, and in cooperation with NA (R)CEs/KAMs
  • Develop key account plans and canvas specific prospective accounts in agreement with the GML and relevant (R)CEs/KAMs
  • Coordinate the preparation of bids and proposals for new and existing business activities and opportunities.

 

Marketing

  • Represent BV at international events (e.g. conferences, exhibitions, seminars) in agreement with the GML
  • Maintain and animate contacts with industry associations (e.g. CLIA, CSSF) in agreement with the GML

 

Services/Technical together with GML

  • Contribute to the development of class notations, rules, guidelines, and non-class value added technical services in line with market demand
  • Provide technical and regulatory support to the BV network and clients, as needed

 

  • Market intelligence and reporting to GML
  • Market intelligence and information sharing (commercial, technical and regulatory)
  • Systematic monitoring and monthly reporting on business development activities

 

 PERFORMANCE INDICATORS  

  • Sales and BV market share in relevant segments
  • Business development/sales plan
  • Conferences/seminars/workshops
  • Visit reports on accounts and prospects
  • Publications, presentations
  • Monthly report

 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Graduate level in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years of class or relevant industry experience
  • Recognized authority and significant expertise within cruise segment
  • Fluent in English language
  • PC-skills
