The Business Development Manager role is a leadership development role that involves direct selling for the first 12-18 months to develop a roster of active clients while learning about our business and services, with the potential to be promoted into a selling manager role leading a team of Sales and Client Services people within 18-36 months.  The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and pursuing new client leads for Certification through cold and warm calling and networking with associates in other Business Units to cross-sell Certification, culminating in the sale of our services. This will be achieved through targeted sales efforts and proactive outreach. The successful candidate will have a proven record of sales generated through their personal network of targeted clients and high volume prospecting and cold calling. Previous work experience in the certification management systems, consultative selling or management consulting markets a bonus but not required.

 

Business Development Manager will work closely with the Business Unit Sales Leader to develop targeted sales strategies and to identify potential new clients, new market segments and create solution selling opportunities. The candidate should be a high-energy, charismatic leader, display a strong personal drive for success and possess interpersonal skills highlighting communications excellence and an entrepreneurial attitude.   

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a strong knowledge of our services and operational processes to maximize revenue potential through Solution Selling while managing client expectations and ensuring that operationally we can meet or exceed client needs
  • Sourcing of prospect accounts and generation of leads through provide market research databases and lead generation systems – Quality leads and Volume
  • Conduct all sales activities with potential clients and identify relevant contact persons for on-going communication
  • Use company tools to develop pricing, proposals and follow-up with clients through execution of signed contracts
  • Ensure proper flow of information to potential clients pertaining to services offered
  • Maintain Client Relationship Management (CRM) database and lead tracking tools of potential clients for future sales and marketing initiatives
  • Source competitive and market data upon which to base future prospecting decisions
  • Develop short and long terms sales forecasts to achieve assigned sales targets
  • Work seamlessly with an assigned Client Services associated to from proposal to contract through renewal to cross/up-sell additional services and grow revenue year-to-year
  • Provide input for weekly/monthly sales reporting and forecasting

 

 

Educational and Skill Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 2+ years sales experience
  • 2+ years of experience using CRM tools – Salesforce.com a bonus
  • Previous experience in professional services, consulting services or consultative selling preferred
  • Excellent communication skills; fluency in English
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work remotely and independently
  • Highly motivated and driven
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to travel to key accounts as needed
