The Project Accountant will provide complete and accurate accounting services to multiple Practice Groups within the Industry Division including project set-up, invoicing and reporting & analysis

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Understand the billing terms for each assigned client as specified in the applicable contract
  • Timely create monthly invoices, custom and generic, for assigned clients
    • Review and log out-going invoices on Invoice log
  • Collect from Project Managers or directly from billable employees necessary documentation required to be submitted to support invoice and timely notify Project managers of any deficiencies
  • Create any documentation required to be submitted to support invoice
  • Create and use custom invoices and reports as required by assigned clients
  • Create and maintain electronic and hard copy Project File in which should be included (i) a copy of the contract (ii) a copy of the project set up request form (iii) copies of all invoices and supporting documents and (iv) any other applicable records.
  • Create Invoicing Instructions for each assigned client.
  • Ensure that timely communication with Project Managers on any issues that arise with documentation and invoicing matters
  • Participate in weekly AR meeting by gathering information regarding outstanding invoices 
  • Provide daily support to accounting team
  • Advance understand and be able to invoice multi-currency projects
  • Advance understand and be able to invoice Multi-level projects
  • Advance Understand and be able to invoice Managing Office projects
  • Run unbilled reports, reports the status of WIP and distribute to Project Acountants, Project Managers, and Business Unit Managers
  • Provide cost and revenue accruals for month end; requires advance understanding
  • Set up projects in Accounting System FLEX.
  • Participate in staff meetings by providing updates on aging unbilled and project reports.
  • Month End Activities
    • Assist in Collecting Cost accrual from Project Coordinators and Project Accountants; reviews for accuracy, creates JE
    • Reviews project/unbilled reports for missing revenue
    • Assist in preparing JE’s and Re-classes as necessary
    • Assist in analysis on project reports to explain variances in revenue from budget and forecast
  • Other Duties as assigned
  • Delivery of invoices i.e. email, mail, client portal

 

EDUCATION/TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in project or cost accounting
  • Previous accounting experience in an engineering, consulting or services firm preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with high level of English proficiency, both written and verbal
  • Advance computer and Microsoft (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
