The Sr. Procurement Manager (SPM) is responsible for the overall coordination of the Company’s procurement function, programs and practices in North America, including but not limited to the implementation of business strategies that support adapting to changing market conditions and cost reduction strategies. The position oversees current BV procurement procedures and works to optimize them as appropriate to meet the needs of all stakeholders in the Procure to Pay (P2P) process. The SPM will assist in the development of our standard procurement practices and compliance infrastructure. They will collaborate with operational functions to ensure procured goods are efficiently leveraged within the organization.  This position also works closely with the Sourcing Manager on the strategic selection of suppliers and to define high-impact, long-term supply chain architecture strategies at the regional and operational level. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):


  • Manage all aspects of purchasing functions in a multi-entity, multicountry (US/Canada) matrix organization.
  • Lead all purchasing related (local and corporate) initiatives for BV North America.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day procurement activities related to new suppliers within the Flex Procure to Pay (P2P) system, Purchase Order requests and procurement-related data and analysis.
  • Oversee the procurement process in Flex ensuring requisitions received by the Procurement team are reviewed for accuracy, compliance and are processed efficiently.
  • Establish, analyze and develop procurement policies and procedures.  Provide guidelines and implement new procedures as needed to increase quality, productivity and cost effectiveness.
  • Continuously look to drive internal improvements to procurement and sourcing processes and reporting.
  • Align resources, prioritize strategies, establish targets and implement cost improvement initiatives in coordination with the Sourcing Manager.
  • Assist as needed with the development of Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests for Information (RFI) in related commodity areas, in collaboration with the Legal team and the Sourcing Manager.
  • In coordination with the Sourcing Manager, consolidate supply base by locating, analyzing, developing and maintaining a supplier database to meet current and future needs for all purchased materials and services.
  • Establish the selection and approval of the regional and global supplier base in conjunction with BV Head office.
  • Manage all facets of procurement and contracting, including vendor evaluations, site audits and continuous improvement processes for suppliers.
  • Establish, maintain, and manage logistics functions to include air, LTL, ocean and rail.
  • Build strong relationships with local and regional BV business partners to better understand their challenges, concerns, and needs.
  • Maintain an open channel of communication with internal and external customers working in parallel with BV Head Office of Global Procurement. Be the focal point for BV North America working in harmony with BV Head Office of Global Procurement.
  • Understand and recognize the interrelation of sales, production, distribution, and maintenance operations to all functions.
  • Ensure service is delivered, deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
  • Assess staffing needs.  Make practical, team-oriented decisions while maintaining proactive communications with company departments and operations.
  • Provide training, follow-up and feedback to all direct reports.
  • Work with Sourcing Manager to develop supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
  • Consistently provide feedback to upper management regarding status of projects, activities and/or initiatives.
  • In coordination with the Sourcing Manager, gather and analyze spending data, as well as local, regional, and global market data to ensure competitive pricing through all phases of contract negotiations.
  • Accountable for global initiatives driven by HO as assigned by his/ her direct supervisor.
  • Support all integration initiatives to ensure acquisitions are engaged and adopt national agreements.
  • Ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.



  • Manages a team of Buyers who are involved in Procurement & Supply Chain Management in both the U.S. and Canada.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of business experience in a corporate procurement environment.
