Position Summary:

 The Biologist is responsible for helping develop innovative, game-changing therapies for the treatment of inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases and their associated complications using cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques with an emphasis on Imaging and Microscopy.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Understand cell and molecular biology to establish cell-based assays and facilitate the identification and characterization of targets that play a role in inflammatory, autoimmune, and fibrotic diseases.
  • Experience in Flow Cytometry such as: ZE5, iQue, Cytek Aurora, Sony Cell Sorter
  • Experience in Imaging using: NanoFCM, Lightsheet, Operetta, Oni Nanoimager, LSM Confocal Microscope
  • Understand molecular biology techniques such as: PCR, DNA sequencing, Immunohistochemistry, PMBC Preps, ELISA, Biochemical assays, Westerns, Protein extractions
  • Data interpretation & troubleshooting/optimization of predefined methods
  • Record data in electronic notebooks
  • Data presentation during regular staff meetings
  • Participate and assist with new technology onboarding and set up
  • General lab maintenance

 

 What You'll Need:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or closely related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of molecular biology experience either through an industry or academic research position
  • Experience in data analysis and results interpretation
  • Candidates need to be self-starters; capable of working independently and directing their own day-to-day workload with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and proactive communication and escalation

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
