Overview:
Position Title: Specimen Management Coordinator

Location: Indianapolis, IN Reports to: Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours Worked: Typically Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet of the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
Position Summary:
The Specimen Management Coordinator is responsible for recording, maintaining, and tracking specimens and reagents in support of ongoing laboratory operations in addition to providing and reviewing associated documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sample management - Receive and QC shipping manifests prior to sample release to lab staff. Tracking, receiving, registering, organizing, store, label and routing of samples and reagents.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support. High client visibility
- Maintain confidential information and ensure clients are informed of changes or revisions.
- Maintain multiple needed communications with internal and external partners (CRO)
- Generate and maintain several data reports ensuring all information is accurate and up to date at all times.
- Must be highly organized, able to manage multiple work and communications lines between multiple external vendors (CRO’s) and our internal clients.
- Responsible for transferring data from external and internal vendor portals to multiple locations for the client.
- Must be self-regulated and have high attention to detail for quality and strong organization skills. An understand of regulatory compliance is an advantage.
- Perform other essential tasks projects and responsibilities as required.
Skills & Proficiencies:
- Professional, clear and concise communicate required in both written and verbal formats
- Proven Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to quickly learn and understand job-specific software is required
- Ability to understand basic scientific terminology and communicate it to others
- Team-oriented and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Be a proven multi-tasker that truly thrives on juggling multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
- Possess strong organizational skills with ability to quickly assess project status and communicate it effectively
- Driven, energetic person able to coordinate activities among different areas of the department
Education and Experience:
- Degree requirement: Associates Degree in Science
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in specimen management.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in highly detail oriented environment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
