We are seeking a 1st shift Laboratory Analyst to join our Metals analytical laboratory. The position entails preparing and analyzing a wide variety of client samples using analytical chemistry methodologies and various spectroscopic instruments.
Schedule: This position will work 1st shift 8 - 5 PM EDT.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing samples, standard reference materials, reagents, and/or solutions.
- Maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
- Performing and documenting routine maintenance and calibration of instrumentation.
- Documenting/recording raw data and results of analyses.
- Executing analytical procedures in accordance with the appropriate regulations.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will possess a B.S./B.A. degree in a field such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, etc., and have one to two years of previous analytical chemistry laboratory experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will also be considered.
- Experience in a GLP/cGMP and ISO regulated environment is preferred.
- The candidate must be a good critical thinker and problem solver, possess good interpersonal skills, and have good technical writing and communication skills.
- The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and interpret mathematical relationships.
- Possess a willingness to learn in a team-based environment.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a group.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to see small objects and handle them appropriately (for example, weighing small amounts of sample into containers the size of a thimble or smaller).
- Basic computer skills.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
