Basic Purpose: What is the overall function of the job?

As part of our national strategy, the Director, Industrial Hygiene will grow and develop our industrial hygiene practice. As part

of our growth strategy, the Director, Industrial Hygiene will lead the Environmental LOB’s expansion into new, emerging and

high growth-potential markets with a focus on driving revenue, market share capture and margin. This role will identify profile,

prioritize, and implement new product and service plans that align with corporate strategies for growth within Industry Canada.

This role can be based out of any of our US locations.


Key Accountability/Responsibilities: What specifically is this job expected to accomplish?


· Profile and prioritize new opportunities through the rigorous and ongoing combing of existing and adjacent markets,

competitive landscapes, technology evolution and market trends.


· Build comprehensive, targeted business plans that position the brand, product and services to deliver exceptional

customer value in the respective markets.


· Lead the implementation of these growth plans and ensure delivery on critical aspects resulting in the achievement of

annual revenue plans and gross margin targets.

· Build ongoing relationships with leaders from across the organization to continually uncover opportunities that can

deliver significant value.

· Conduct systematic customer, competitor and other market research to identify growth market opportunities


· Liaise with existing and potential customers, industry associations and government agencies to create comprehensive

market profiles that help understand current market position, including our value advantages and disadvantages


· Collect, analyze and present data on competitive landscape in the IH market


· Evaluate the adequacy of the Company’s current products and services and recommend changes and/or additions

enhance our marketing offering

· Collaborate with operational, sales, and marketing team members to create influential positioning, create team

engagement and gain alignment as the teams work to deliver against business plans.

· Develop new go-to-market models where appropriate.

· Develop multi-year growth plans that flesh out market opportunities, vetting operational, marketing, and commercial

costs and risks

· Prepare and lead the implementation of the growth plans

· Provide guidance, training and support for regional business development teams to execute selected business plans.


· Collaborate with BV’s marketing team to design a suitable and influential marketing communication strategy that leverages our existing communication channels and promotes services that are specifically tailored to the needs of both the end user as well as consulting customers · Working closely with Bureau Veritas’ business development group, grow Bureau Veritas’ market share with existing and new clients in the industrial hygiene in all geographies in the US and Canada by defining targets and tactics. · Gather the “voice of the customer” to better understand customer expectations and unmet wants to support business decisions and strategy evolution. · As a member of the Sales & Service Management team, you will be responsible for development and performance management of US based sales staff working in the IH practice. · Represent Bureau Veritas’ at industry conferences, associations and stakeholder groups to raise our corporate profile and build a stronger business network within the industry. · Management of annual revenue budgets, monthly forecasting and expense management for the practice. · Adhere to Bureau Veritas’ Code of Ethics Policy · Support and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program. · Participate, when requested in department and health and safety meetings. · Maintain training records and relevant qualifications. · All other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge: What skills and knowledge are used to carry out job responsibilities and solve problems?

· University degree in engineering, environmental science or biology or a Certified Industrial Hygienist designation.

· 5 years of industry experience

· Experience working with industrial hygiene laboratories

· Excellent customer relationship management skills

· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). French is a definite asset, but not required.

· Energetic personality that can work independently in a multi-tasking fast paced environment

· Very strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate and influence colleagues in a matrix structure

Working Conditions: physical work environment, physical effort, visual and listening attention, and travel


· General office and laboratory environment. Can be located anywhere in North America although ideally based at one

of the US facilities. Hybrid work environment is acceptable.
