What You'll Do:

  • Supervise the work performance of all lab employees.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and helping to direct and carry out work set by the client; appraising performance; regular meetings and open communication with each team member; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develop training plans and maintain records to indicate individual’s objective qualification to perform specific routine tests.
  • Develop and maintain work assignments for all operators, providing ample cross-training between individuals for seamless delivery of work as priorities shift.
  • Optimize lab productivity.
  • Receive direction from client personnel to coordinate testing priorities, continually communicating progress or issues.
  • Set analysis promise dates by coordinating with Team Lead(s) and communicating timing to client.
  • Oversee the completion, maintenance, and reporting (monthly, quarterly & annually) of instrument calibrations by service provider.
  • Maintain Safety as an Absolute and ensure employees comply with all relevant client safety, security, and quality requirements.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with client sponsors to identify improvement opportunities and strives for better work practices across workflows/systems.
  • Provide Team Lead support and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation and automated systems.
  • Set an example for Good Laboratory Practices
  • Interface with client at Labs and IT Security to maintain instrument network/firewall connectivity.

 

What You'll Need:

 

Skills & Proficiencies:

  • Client Relationship Management skills.
  • Proficient in Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Demonstrate effective communication within work team and with clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools.
  • Experience with NEXUS/LabVantage/Starfire LIMS preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with instrument vendors to troubleshoot equipment and execute preventative maintenance on equipment. Experience with laboratory automation a PLUS.
     

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific, Project Management or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with laboratory testing and/or project-management
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leadership

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
