Bottle Preparation Technician - Environmental Customer Service Dept.

 

 

As a Bottle Preparation Technician, your main responsibilities are:

 

  • Print out daily work orders and accompanying documents
  • Prioritizing bottle orders to ensure timely completion and delivery
  • Ensure bottles are correctly sorted on the table and are in good condition
  • Check the accuracy of bottles sorted to the bottle order
  • Label and/or dispense acid and methanol in bottles, when necessary, as per safety standards
  • Ensure all coolers are clean and in good condition
  • Pack bottles in coolers, ensuring sufficient packing materials and ice packs are provided
  • Ensure the bottle order paperwork is included in the cooler
  • Pack bottles in intermediate packaging as per Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulations
  • Seal cooler with packaging tape and ensure it is safe for transport
  • Place all shipping labels on coolers as per TDG requirements
  • Separate all coolers as per delivery requirements
  • Ensure all bottle orders are completed on time and are accurate
  • Record and monitor fridge temperatures daily and monthly verification of dispensers
  • Monitor client pick up area for overdue pick-ups and communicate to the Customer Service team
  • Assist in developing innovative and proactive methods to ensure the team achieves core performance standards.
  • Ensure that all bottle preparation inventory, i.e. containers, preservatives, packing materials, etc. are maintained at a sufficient stock level at all times.
  • Ensure an inventory of QC (Trip blanks and spikes) is maintained and all preparation and acceptance protocols are followed.
  • Maintain frequency of bottle proofing according to Bottle Preparation SOP’s
  • Must be fully trained and certified in all aspects of handling, offering for transport, and transporting of dangerous goods as outlined in the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act and Regulations. Training must be compliant with all means of transport used by Bureau Veritas.
  • Follow all procedures of the Bottle Preparation SOP’s and Quality Control and Health and Safety
  • Be proactive in the identification of problems, areas of opportunity and inform the appropriate person to act upon accordingly.
  • Maintain bottle prep area in a clean, safe and an organized manner
  • Represent the organization in a highly professional manner

 

You are the ideal Bottle Preparation Technician, if you have: 

 

  • Experience in a laboratory environment an asset
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational skills and detailed oriented
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Good computer skills e.g. MS Excel®, MS Outlook®, LIMS
  • Energetic personality that can work independently and as a team in a multi- tasking fast paced environment.
  • You have a strong ability to work independently as well as engage others when required in escalation of concerns to meet the client needs or to best manage client disappointments.
  • You are an energetic and keen individual with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing and adapting to changes are required.
