Bureau Veritas is looking for a Proposal Coordinator


The Revenue Management team is seeking a motivated individual with excellent writing skills, combined with a background in analytical science to assist with Bid responses and submissions. This is a great opportunity for growth, using your analytical scientific knowledge, while gaining a new experience in a growing and recognizable field.


The Proposal Coordinator will work with the Proposal Manager, Business Development team and various internal stakeholders to develop strategies for public and private sector RFPs, RFQs, RFSOs, RFIs and other related proposal documents, for the Bureau Veritas (BV) Environmental Services, Industrial Hygiene Services and other lines of business as needed. This role is responsible for creating written business proposals that are compliant, compelling and high in quality that maximize win rates, revenue and profitability for targeted new and/or existing clients. 


The Proposal Coordinator will support the Proposal Manager on continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the Proposal process flow by revising and updating bios, resumes, boilerplate materials and other applicable documents contained in the proposal repository system.  


Support may also be required from time-to-time on content and formatting of knowledge base articles, scientific papers and marketing materials collateral.


  • Work directly with the Proposal Manager to create accurate, concise, customer-focused proposal responses that comply with the client requirements pertaining to RFPs, RFQs, RFSOs, RFIs and other related documents
  • Write responses to proposals, proof read, edit existing materials and ensure adherence to RFP instructions and requirements
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to compile and prepare technical content that supports proposal submissions including completion of RDL, Method and TAT tables
  • Translate technical concepts and scopes of work into compelling written material that is of high quality, fit for purpose and delivered on time
  • Maintain and update the proposal repository system materials including but not limited to resumes of key personnel, staff bios, operational capacity fact sheets and other relevant documents
  • Monitor various bid notification portals and alert appropriate Sales staff on applicable opportunities
  • Support other writing tasks (including marketing pieces, technical bulletins), as required
  • Participate and/or co-ordinate bid desk strategy calls with key staff to review bid requirements, establish roles and responsibilities, project timelines and check-in/status updates for each RFP/RFQ/RFSO/RFI opportunity
  • Other role related duties as assigned


  • A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a business, marketing, communication, technical writing, or other related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional writing, proposal writing, technical writing or grant writing in a related field
  • Knowledge of analytical science or laboratory experience is preferred
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a passion for writing, creativity and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work with a team at all levels of the organization and able to thrive in both a team setting and work independently
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment under tight and often competing deadlines
  • Must be highly motivated, organized, and quick learner with a drive for results 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat 
  • Experience in Photoshop, InDesign or other graphic design programs would be an asset


NOTE: This position would be Hybrid (home/office) and can be either in Canada (Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC) or United States (Novi, MI; Lake Zurich, Il). Candidates should be available to commute to office locations regularly.
