Your main responsibilities are

  • Provide general lab support.
  • Performs basic testing procedures for food samples.
  • Ensures a high level of accuracy in sample preparation.
  • Assist with media preparation and decontamination
  • Employs proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other materials.
  • If needed, help at Sample Reception.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) when conducting any laboratory work or procedure.
  • Prioritizes daily workload based on sample and client requirement.
  • Identifies any non-routine samples and seeks guidance on procedures for handling.
  • Identifies and communicates non-conformances to Supervisor.
  • Maintains training records and relevant qualifications.
  • Meet s quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
  • Keeps work area clean, neat and organized.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.

 

You are the ideal candidate if:

  • Minimum: College diploma in Science
  • Experience in a laboratory is an asset
  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills.
  • Works both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail orientated and record keeping skills.
  • Learns quickly and able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Adapts to a changing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills.

 

Working conditions

  • Work place : 7150 rue Frederick Banting, Ville Saint-Laurent, Montreal
  • Take note that the access by public transport can be difficult at certain times of the day
  • Work schedule : Possibility of a full-time schedule 4 days a week (10 hours per day) or 5 days a week (8 hours per day). Hours of work may include weekends. Depending on needs, possibility of overtime on weekdays and / or weekends
  • Status : Full-Time
