We are currently hiring for a Senior Special Inspector to provide expert technical services relating to testing and inspection of spray-applied fireproofing, welding, bolting, steel details, cold formed steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete.

Salary: Based on Experience

 

In this role you will:

  • Verify placement, type, and size of reinforcing steel, connectors, pre-stressing tendons, and anchorage.
  • Assure spacing, support, lap splices, length, and location of all reinforcing bars was done in accordance to approved specifications.
  • Perform visual inspection of all masonry construction and obtained mortar samples, identified mortar types and strengths, labelled and assured proper curing of specimens until pick-ups occur.
  • Perform visual verification of Skidmore testing to verify tension control bolts are in conformance with pre-determined psi.
  • Perform field test, Torque Wrench testing to verify compliance with code.
  • Perform special and construction inspection for all phases of structural steel erection.
  • Review procedure qualification reports, welding procedure specifications, and welder qualification reports to assure all code requirements were met prior to the commencement of welding.
  • Verify and ensure full compliance with the contract documents, such as submittals and drawings. Report non-conforming issues (NCR’s) to the contractor and client immediately.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports daily to the client.
  • Practice safety in accordance with applicable standards

 

Qualified Professionals will have a combination or all of the certifications:

  • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector
  • ICC Spray-applied Fireproofing Special Inspector
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector
  • ACI Concrete Testing Technician – Level I
  • ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
  • American Society for Non-Destructive Testing: ACCP VT, UT, MT and PT Level II
  • SWAC
  • OSHA 10 Hour

 

Qualified professionals will also have:

  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients of all levels
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings & specifications
  • Reliable means of transportation & valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to learn
  • Works well with a team and individually
  • Familiarity with construction industry codes
  • Mathematical Knowledge - Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Installation Oversight - Installing equipment, machines, to meet specifications.
  • Equipment Selection Oversight - Determining tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Airport/Large Construction project experience
