Job Description

Routine and complex sample preparation

Simple routine maintenance on the instrumentation they have been trained on

Data review and interpretation with no assistance

Data Entry

Instrument/analytical problem solving and process improvement

QA investigations with no assistance

Working independently and giving insight on problem solving

Keeps abreast of current and new methods

Statistical analyses on quality control samples to assure compliance

Quality and quantity of work meets laboratory benchmarks

Follows safety requirements including the appropriate use of safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats

IDC sample requirements are met

Company procedures and policies adhered to

On-going participation in laboratory skills inventory

Required Experience, Education, Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science field with some applicable analytical experience
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
The ability to follow established protocols for analysis and safety. Comfort working with/around concentrated acids and using required PPE. Availability for overtime work on evenings and weekends to meet client workload demands. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to cross-train in other laboratory departments, as needed. Ability to maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Preferred, but not required:
Preparation of samples using concentrated and dilute acids and analysis of samples using any of the following: Gas Chromatography FID, NPD, FPD, and/or ECD. Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: analytical balances, pipettes, chemical exhaust hoods, and laboratory ovens/furnaces.

Here's a breakdown of what we provide:
Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience

Base Pay is adjusted based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
