SUMMARY:  The Electric Vehicle Technical Project Manager will support programs and technical services across BV divisions to support the electric vehicle (EV) market.  This position is responsible for managing the overall direction, operations, budget, and reporting of each assigned project. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

 

The Electric Vehicle Project Manager will:

  • Support the implementation and installation of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) infrastructure targets for BV clients in cities nationwide.
  • Foster a proactive and customer-centric culture to foster trust, confidence among customers / electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) developers / technology providers, the sales team, and create new / maintain relationships.
  • Manage multiple EVSE projects and the development of each from beginning to end.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables for each project.
  • Manage every aspect of the development process including consultants, general contractors, vendors, specialty contractors, budgets, internal departments, and developers.
  • Manage each phase of the project including entitlement, design, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, and project close out.
  • Execute budget development, forecasting, and management of project timeline as well as change orders.
  • Utilize web-based project management.
  • Provide direction and support to the project team and present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.  
  • Collaborate within EV team, other internal departments, external vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Partner with operations and contractors to ensure seamless response to complex public charging station applications for rebates or incentives.
  • Partner with construction planning and business development teams to resolve site host and customer issues.
  • Ensure stellar customer service, robust program performance and to secure continued growth.
  • Partner when needed on program design, customer enrollments, budget and timely and accurate incentive payments and reporting.
  • Foster growth through innovative design solutions, collaborative relationships with stakeholders both internal and external and through development and training of employees and contractors.
  • Develop, document and hone processes for assigned programs and projects.
  • Climb ladders (including vertical ladders up multiple stories) and/or steep roof stairs (for each building assessed, at least once per on-site assessment).
  • Ability to travel, on average, up to 90% of time to client sites and offices across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on the project location.  Overnight stays away from home may be required.
  • Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client’s needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Education and/or Experience: 
    • B.S. or B.A. Degree in Construction, Architecture or Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
    • Five to ten years of direct work experience in a project management or account management capacity (two years of this experience in leading or supporting clean energy projects or programs OR leading utility programs).

 

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Strong consideration will be given to those that are PMP and LEED certified
    • Valid driver's license is required.
    • Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.

 

  • Other Qualifications:
    • Must have a clean driving record.
    • Must be able to work from a remote location.
    • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
    • Occasional weekend travel required.
    • Must be willing to fly and live near (or be willing to relocate to) a major metropolitan area with reasonable access to a major airport.
    • Ability to travel, on average, up to 90% of time to client sites and offices across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on the project location.  Overnight stays away from home may be required.
    • Knowledge of construction components, process, and methodologies required.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with BV employees and customers.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
    • Excellent computer skills.
    • Ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position.

 

  • Other Qualifications:
    • Must be energized and excited about the EV market space and have a strong desire to grow the business.
    • Should possess experience and/or knowledge of electric vehicle technologies.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision or guidance.
    • Demonstrated experience analyzing information, both technical and financial, and making recommendations based on that information.
    • Stellar communication, presentation, interpersonal, writing skills, and experience presenting to small and large audiences.
    • Experience with governmental agencies at all levels as well as regulatory filings.
