The Opportunity   

Bureau Veritas is seeking an accomplished Construction Manager to lead and grow our infrastructure and construction advisory capability across South Australia. This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for delivering operational excellence across major projects while driving business growth, strengthening client relationships, and expanding Bureau Veritas' presence within the Adelaide market.

With a strong focus on major roads, bridges, tunnelling, transport and civil infrastructure projects, you will provide strategic leadership across project delivery, people management, commercial performance, and stakeholder engagement. This role presents an opportunity to influence some of South Australia's most significant infrastructure programs while contributing to the continued growth of a global industry leader.

Key Responsibilities    

•  Lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
• Drive operational excellence through effective project governance, risk management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide inspiring leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high-performance culture that prioritises collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
• Develop and execute business growth strategies, identifying opportunities to expand Bureau Veritas' market presence and service offerings across South Australia.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and profitability targets.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with government agencies, clients, contractors, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
• Leverage market intelligence and industry networks to secure new business opportunities and strengthen Bureau Veritas' position within the infrastructure sector.
• Provide strategic advice throughout project lifecycles, supporting clients in navigating complex technical, commercial, and delivery challenges.
•  Champion best practice governance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and stakeholder management approaches across all projects.
• Act as a senior representative of Bureau Veritas, promoting the organisation's values, reputation, and commitment to technical excellence.

   

About You   

• Adelaide-based or possessing strong Adelaide market knowledge and networks.
• Extensive industry experience, ideally 20 + years across major infrastructure projects including roads, bridges and tunnelling projects.
• A profile similar to Jeremy Jourbran, bringing a strong blend of leadership, Technical strength, commercial acumen, and industry credibility.
• A Design & Engineering background, preferably complemented by Construction experience.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships across government, clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Should demonstrate mature, diplomatic leadership, characterised by sound judgment, effective stakeholder engagement and the ability to achieve alignment in challenging environments.
• Strong problem-solving capability, risk mitigation expertise, and sound project governance experience.
• Commercially minded, with the role anticipated to be approximately 70% delivery/people leadership and 30% business development.
