Job Summary:


The T-Line Manager will be responsible for providing coordination of planning for contractors, and craft activities on a utility scale transmission line projects. Develop and enhance relationships by providing superior service. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

Organization, flexibility, outstanding focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties which include, but are not limited to:
•    Ensure the high-quality installation of transmission infrastructure and related systems by providing on-the-job oversight of construction contractors.
•    Participate in reviews of project drawings/submittals, evaluate constructability, and provide feedback to the engineering team to help verify that the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship conforms to the specifications and is aligned with contractual requirements.
•    Work with Site Manager and owner’s Project Manager in reviews of project schedules and their updates.
•    Supervise and provide quality control of the working team.
•    Manage the interface with interconnection personnel for connection of the project power grid to the existing transmission system.
•    Serve as the liaison between engineers, contractors, and craft workers to ensure electrical components of the project comply with drawings and specifications. 
•    Attend and participate in project meetings (On-site and remote)
•    Establish and contribute to a positive work environment within the project team.
•    Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, contractors, and landowners.
•    Review logistics for efficiency, providing suggestions for improvement.
•    Review/monitor contractor’s procurement of electrical resources, methods, staffing, look-ahead schedules and coordination with other site activities
•    Work with engineering staff to ensure plans, specifications, submittals and RFIs are transmitted to subcontractors accurately and timely
•    Monitor Safety, Quality, and Efficiency of contractors work on every project.
•    Ensure owners supplied subcontract crews have resources and support.

Skills


The requirements listed below are representative of acquired skills required.
•    Proficiency in the following disciplines:
o    Establishment of access
o    Foundations
o    Structure erection
o    Insulators and hardware
o    Pulling of conductor/OPGW to proper sag
o    Splices
o    FAA equipment
o    Microwave communication systems
•    Knowledge of end-to-end testing procedures.
•    Possess working knowledge of the design process, documents (Drawings, reports, etc.), RFI processes, and NCR’s.


Competencies


The requirements listed below are competencies required to perform the job successfully.
•    Basic Understanding of lean construction and principles of risk management
•    Basic Understanding of quality management systems 
•    Microsoft software products
•    OSHA 10/OSHA 30 a plus

 

Education, Certifications, and Experience 


•    High school Diploma
•    5+ years’ experience as a lineman 
•    Current driver’s license

    Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and work occasionally at heights via contractor operated manlifts for the purpose of inspection.
    Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50 pounds regularly/occasionally
    Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
    Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain.
    Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
    Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
    Must be able to operate company trucks safely for extended durations both on and off-road.
