Position: Gas Inspector - LPG, NG & SNG
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
1. Overview
The Gas Inspector shall be highly qualified, preferably with DOE approval as Engineer, to ensure the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Natural Gas (NG), and Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) systems across the Emirate.
The role demands meticulous inspections, rigorous testing, and precise documentation in line with national and international standards.

• Conduct on‑site inspections of LPG, NG, and SNG piping, pipelines, pressure regulation, gas detection system, storage facilities, and distribution networks • Perform pressure, leak, and integrity tests using calibrated measuring devices • Review and verify on the ground execution of the design documents, engineering and shop drawings, and material certificates |

Compliance & Documentation |
• Verify adherence of gas system installations (new and/ore existing) to UAE regulations and industry standards:
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and Certificate of Conformity (COC) • All inspection reports must follow the Unified Checklist Inspection Report issued by the Department of Energy. Reports must contain every mandatory section, data field, and compliance criterion specified in the checklist before submission to the client, Gas Company, and/or Department of Energy • Knowledgeable with DOE processes and requirements for the different stages of Gas NOC applications (e.g., Gas System Design and Workshop Drawings Approval, Gas System Certificate of Completion Issuance, Workshop Drawings Modifications/Amendments Approval, Annual Renewal Gas System No Objection Certicate (NOC) Issuance, etc.) |

Risk & Safety Management |
• Identify safety hazards and recommend mitigation measures • Immediately reports all gas leaks encountered during inspection for swift leak-mitigation response • Conduct risk assessments and facilitate safety briefings/orientations for Gas companies and end users, whenever required • Participate in incident investigations and root‑cause analyses, whenever required |

Stakeholder Coordination |
• Liaise with clients and/or Gas companies, and regulatory bodies to schedule inspections and resolve compliance issues • Provide expert guidance on best practices for gas handling, distribution and storage |

Continuous Improvement |
• Contribute to the development and refinement of inspection processes & procedures, and quality assurance & quality control • Stay current with evolving standards, technologies, and industry trends |
3. Required Qualifications

Education |
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preference given to Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline) • Certificate of Recognition / UAE Equivalency Certificate issued by MOHESR |

Experience |
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Gas Utilization (LPG/NG/SNG) systems. and/or Petroleum Products Storage Facilities • Demonstrated record of regulatory compliance and safety & integrity inspections |

Certifications and License |
• Valid UAE driving license • Any relevant certifications (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, API 510, API 570, API 653) |

Technical and Soft Skills |
• Proficiency with pressure testing equipment, gas leak detection equipment, gas detection system, SCADA systems • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) • Strong knowledge of UAE Energy Regulations, and ISO/IEC codes • Excellent written and verbal communication • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities • Ability to work independently and collaboratively |
4. Working Arrangements and Conditions
- Work schedule from Monday – Saturdays for 10 hours per day
- Shift patterns may include weekends and night shifts as required by project schedules
- Field inspections may involve travel within Abu Dhabi and surrounding regions.
- Work may occur in hot, high‑pressure environments; adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory.
