Job Title: Mechanical Design Verification Engineer – HVAC & Plumbing (UAE)

Job Description:

Role Overview: 

The Mechanical Design Verification Engineer is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating HVAC and plumbing system designs in compliance with UAE codes (Abu Dhabi), international standards, client requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review mechanical (HVAC & Plumbing) design drawings, calculations, and specifications submitted by consultants or contractors.

- Ensure compliance with UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and relevant local authority requirements (e.g., ADCD, ADM).

- Verify HVAC system sizing, equipment selection, ductwork and piping layouts, and zoning based on thermal loads.

- Review plumbing layouts, drainage systems, water supply systems, and ensure proper slope, pipe sizing, and venting.

- Validate design integration with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines.

- Issue technical comments and compliance reports for each review cycle.

- Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities.

- Support the authorities’ approval process and assist with documentation submittals.

- Maintain a record of all reviewed documents and track closure of comments.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

- Minimum 7–9 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design review in the UAE.

- Strong knowledge of UAE codes and authority requirements.

- Proficient in reviewing design software outputs (e.g., HAP, Elite, AutoCAD, Revit MEP).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience with third-party verification or consultancy firms is a plus.
