Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Leads soil and rock analysis, foundation design, and slope stability assessments for construction projects, ensuring safety and compliance. They manage ground investigations, mentor junior staff, and provide technical expertise in ground improvement. Key responsibilities include reviewing designs, preparing reports, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Analysis: Perform advanced geotechnical calculations for foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and slope stability.
• Site Investigations: Plan, supervise, and interpret field and laboratory testing (e.g., SPT, CPT, boreholes) to evaluate soil/rock properties.
• Technical Reporting: Prepare interpretative reports, specifications, and design documents.
• Project Management: Lead geotechnical deliverables, manage budgets, and ensure projects comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Coordination and Support: Liaise with clients, contractors, and structural engineers to resolve complex ground issues and provide value engineering.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. 

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
• Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is often required.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, Seequent GeoStudio, gINT).
• Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international codes (e.g., Eurocode, ASTM, BS).
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client interaction. 

Working Conditions

• Environment: Mix of office-based design work and on-site field inspections.
• Physical Demands: Requires walking on uneven terrain and potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
