Position Summary
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic growth and expanding market share within the U.S. Data Center sector. This role will identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, cloud, and AI infrastructure clients while leveraging the Industry Division's technical service capabilities, including inspection, testing, certification, quality assurance, project support, commissioning support, asset integrity, and technical advisory services.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the data center industry, strong executive-level relationships, and a proven ability to develop strategic partnerships with owners, developers, contractors, engineering firms, and mission-critical infrastructure stakeholders. This position will play a key role in expanding the organization's presence in one of the fastest-growing infrastructure markets in North America.

Essential Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
•    Develop and execute business development strategies focused on expanding the organization's Data Center market presence throughout the United States.
•    Identify and pursue opportunities with hyperscale providers, cloud operators, colocation companies, AI infrastructure developers, enterprise data center owners, and mission-critical facility operators.
•    Generate new revenue streams by promoting testing, inspection, certification, quality assurance, technical advisory, project support, and engineering-related services.
•    Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through strategic prospecting, networking, industry engagement, and account development.
•    Lead pursuit efforts from initial customer engagement through contract negotiation and project award.
•    Meet or exceed established revenue, profitability, and business development objectives.
Strategic Account Management
•    Establish trusted relationships with executive decisionmakers, construction leaders, procurement teams, consultants, and operational stakeholders.
•    Develop and implement strategic account growth plans for key customers.
•    Drive cross-selling opportunities across multiple service offerings and geographic regions.
•    Support customer retention initiatives and long-term partnership development.
Market Expansion & Industry Leadership
•    Identify market trends and emerging opportunities related to hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, cloud computing, sustainability initiatives, energy management, and mission-critical facilities.
•    Maintain a strong understanding of industry developments, competitive activity, and customer requirements.
•    Represent the organization at industry associations, conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
•    Enhance brand recognition and market positioning within the data center industry.
Internal Collaboration
•    Work closely with operations, technical experts, project managers, engineers, and leadership teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
•    Support proposal development, customer presentations, and major project pursuits.
•    Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and CRM updates.
•    Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support strategic business planning.

Required Qualifications
Education
•    Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Marketing, or related field.
•    MBA preferred.
Experience
•    8+ years of business development, sales, or strategic account management experience.
•    5+ years supporting the data center, mission-critical infrastructure, engineering, construction, commissioning, or technical services industries.
•    5+ years supporting the power industry, including utilities, power generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, grid infrastructure, EPC, engineering, testing, inspection, commissioning, or related technical services organizations.
•    Proven experience developing new businesses and managing large strategic accounts.
•    Demonstrated success selling technical, industrial, professional, engineering, consulting, testing, inspection, or project-related services.
•    Demonstrated experience developing business opportunities and strategic relationships within the power sector, with the ability to leverage those relationships to support long-term market growth.
•    Existing relationships within the data center ecosystem are strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•    Strong understanding of data center development, construction, commissioning, operations, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
•    Strong understanding of power industry markets, including generation, transmission, distribution, utility operations, renewable energy, and energy infrastructure development.
•    Knowledge of mission-critical facility systems including electrical distribution, backup power, cooling systems, controls, and reliability requirements.
•    Excellent client relationships, negotiation, and presentation skills.
•    Strong consultative selling and strategic planning capabilities.
•    Ability to engage executive-level stakeholders and influence business decisions.
•    Proficiency with CRM, Microsoft Office, and sales forecasting tools.
