Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking a highly capable Operations Team Leader with a strong oil & gas background to lead and manage operational activities in Baghdad. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent operational leadership, business acumen, and HSE commitment, with a proven track record in supervising teams and delivering safe, efficient, and profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise daily operational activities to ensure efficient and safe execution of services.
• Manage, mentor, and develop operations and field teams, ensuring high performance and accountability.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and local regulations; promote a strong safety culture.
• Plan, coordinate, and optimize resources, manpower, and equipment to meet operational and business objectives.
• Monitor operational KPIs, productivity, and service quality; implement corrective actions when required.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures to ensure continuity and safety.
• Support budget control, cost optimization, and operational reporting.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the oil & gas industry.
• Proven track record in operations leadership and team supervision.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas operational processes and service delivery.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and enforcing HSE systems and standards.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent operational and business acumen.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE principles, risk assessment, and incident management.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic operational environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and operational reporting tools.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
