Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive with a strong oil & gas background to drive growth opportunities in the Basra region. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships, supporting tenders, and expanding the company’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities in the oil & gas sector

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in Basra and southern Iraq.

• Support the preparation and submission of tenders, bids, and proposals, including technical and commercial coordination.
• Market studies: gathers and analyses commercial information, recommendations to BU Managers 
• Negotiate commercial terms and support contract discussions to ensure profitability and compliance.
• Represent the company at client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
• Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and reports for management.
• Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies, HSE standards, and local regulations.

 

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, Electrical, or related field).
• 5–7 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas projects, services, and contracting models.
• Experience with tendering processes, proposal preparation, and client negotiations.
• Familiarity with the Basra market and southern Iraq oil fields is highly preferred.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to understand and discuss technical solutions with clients and internal teams.
• Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
