Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced IND Sales Leader with a strong oil & gas background to drive growth opportunities in the Basra region. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships, supporting tenders, and expanding the company’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Development

• Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies tailored to Iraq oil and gas market

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with key industry players and stakeholders

• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and prospects 

 

Client Relationship Management

 

• Establish and nurture long-term relationships with major clients, contractors, and operators

• Conduct regular client engagement activities and account reviews

• Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through proactive account managemen

 

Marketing & Brand Development 

 

• Create and implement targeted marketing campaigns for the local oil and gas sector

• Develop compelling marketing materials, proposals, and presentations

• Enhance brand visibility and positioning within the regional market 

 

Market Intelligence & Analysis 

 

•Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in Iraq

•Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making

•Conduct competitive analysis and identify market opportunities 

 

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

 

•Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team

•Collaborate with internal departments (operations, technical, finance) to ensure seamless execution

•Set performance targets and track KPIs 

 

Business Development 

 

•Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities

•Prepare tender proposals and commercial bids

•Negotiate contracts and commercial terms 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, Electrical, or related field).

• MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification (preferred) 
• 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the oil & gas industry.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas projects, services, and contracting models.
• Experience with tendering processes, proposal preparation, and client negotiations.
• Familiarity with the Basra market and southern Iraq oil fields is highly preferred.

• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to understand and discuss technical solutions with clients and internal teams.
• Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
