Painting & Coating Surveillance

Bureau Veritas Iraq is looking to hire Painting & Coating Surveillance based in Basra for an - on site position.

Qualifications:

10+ years of coating Surveillance experience / at least one of the following: NACE 2, BGAS-CSWIP, FROSIO, ICORR, or equivalent

including 5+ years’ experience with the particular commodity or process

· Minimum 5 Years Experience in Cross Country Pipeline Coating inspection

· Having NACE Level- II/III or BGAS Level 2 or 3 and Engineering Graduate

· Having Experience in Hot shrink sleeve of pipeline

· Having Experience in Coating Repair procedures

· Having experience in surface roughness preparation

· Having experience in blaster and painter qualification

· Capable of checking the measuring NDE instruments correctness and validity

· Experience in NDE test validation witness of test coupons

· Good Communication skills and capable of making the daily Reports

· Well versed of Coating standards and coating tests like Adhesion Test, peel off, crosscut, pull off test, Holiday pin

detection test, slat contamination test, surface roughness measurement test

· Understanding of the Coating KPIs

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct surveillance of surface preparation and coating activities at fabrication yards and project sites.

· Verify compliance with approved coating specifications, procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

· Monitor blasting activities including surface cleanliness and profile measurement.

· Verify environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) prior to and during coating application.

·Inspect coating application processes including primer, intermediate, and topcoat layers.

· Measure and verify Dry Film Thickness (DFT), Wet Film Thickness (WFT), and coating uniformity.

· Witness adhesion testing, holiday testing, and other coating integrity tests.

· Ensure compliance with relevant standards (NACE, SSPC, ISO 8501, ISO 12944, project specifications,

etc.).

· Monitor coating of piping, vessels, tanks, structural steel, and offshore/onshore equipment.

· Verify proper storage and handling of coating materials.

· Ensure material traceability and review coating manufacturer certificates and batch records.

· Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for deviations from specifications.

· Prepare daily/weekly surveillance and inspection reports.

· Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements during blasting and coating activities (confined space,

hazardous areas, etc.).
