Senior Analyst – Metals Section
This is a full-time position with Medical Benefits and a Retirement Savings Plan.
As a Senior Analyst, you will assist Supervisor / Manager to coordinate the activities of the day. The senior analyst is results oriented to produce high quality defensible analytical data, safely and on time by following applicable Standard Operating Procedures. They are to be the resource for Laboratory Technicians and Analysts for all laboratory procedures and complex analyses. Participates in building a strong team of analytical professionals.

Key Accountability/Responsibilities:
- Prioritize jobs according to rush and client specific deadlines, monitor workload summary and prioritizes / shift activities to meet test deadlines
- Liaise and communicate with customer service, project managers, scientific specialists, and login staff as required
- Ensure instruments are fully functional and report any equipment/staff issues to Supervisor / Manager immediately
- Ensure staff follow all SOPs
- Assist with analyst training and proficiency
- Provide technical expertise to staff on a day-to-day basis
- Provide backup support to section supervisor
- Review, report and/or validate analytical and quality control data. Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Must be familiar with the operational activities of other areas, such as Sample Reception/Inspection, Pre-processing
- All other responsibilities as assigned.
- Suggests and helps to implement production efficiencies
- Participates, when requested in internal and external audits
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures and general work instructions
- Proactively orders supplies and maintains appropriate inventory levels

QUALIFICATIONS [Minimum Requirements]:
Education and Experience:
- B.Sc., technical diploma or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in specific environment
- Knowledge of, and experience with laboratory Occupational Health and Safety practices to handle hazardous materials by taking the necessary precautions
- Up-to-date knowledge of laboratory processes and automation
- Thorough understanding of Bureau Veritas’ Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
