Site Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer

Guinea Conakry

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in structural and concrete construction, preferably in industrial or infrastructure projects.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited Lebanese university (e.g., USJ, LAU, AUB, NDU, LU, etc.)

Professional Experience Requirements

The engineer should have hands-on experience in:

1. Concrete Works Supervision:
• Checking rebar placement, formwork, and shuttering before casting.
• Monitoring concrete pouring operations and ensuring compliance with mix design and slump test results.
• Ensuring curing methods are applied correctly.
2. Quality Control:
• Verifying mix design and strength results (slump, cube/cylinder tests).
• Reviewing test reports and concrete batch tickets.
• Ensuring compliance with ACI, BS, or EN standards.
3. Project Coordination:
• Liaising between the design office, site contractor, and client representative.
• Writing site visit reports with photos, observations, and non-compliance notes if found.

Deliverables / Responsibilities on Site

• Conduct full inspection of reinforcement, formwork, and concrete mix prior to each pour.
• Witness the slump test and cube sampling for compressive strength testing.
• Verify level and alignment of structural elements (columns, beams, slabs, foundations).
• Approve each stage before the contractor proceeds and shall provide written approval to the contractor prior to the commencement of any concrete pouring phase.
